Direction
Step 1: Wash hands before and after treating the wound. Gently clean the wound and the surrounding skin. Clean and dry the skin surrounding the wound and clip any excess hair close to the wound.
Step 2: Open the pouch by peeling apart the flaps on the pouch paper. Remove the patch and cut to size if required, allowing for a 2cm border from the edge of the wound. Remove the backing sheet from the dressing.
Step 3: Apply the self-adhesive side of ALLEVYN Thin to the wound ensuring good contact.
Warnings
Do not use on wounds with exposed muscle, bone or tendon where a risk of drying out exists. Do not use on wounds where the surrounding skin is damaged or sensitive. Contact your healthcare professional if infection is suspected, eg. redness or foul exudate. Infected wounds should be inspected daily and treated appropriately.
The use of oxidising agents, eg. hydrogen peroxide and hypochlorite solutions should be avoided with ALLEVYN Thin. Sterile unless pack is opened or damaged.
